Before the zao water came, we were using the dirty water which had germs inside it, flies and snails.  It was not nice to our bodies, it was making us sick.  We had stomachaches.  Others were becoming sick and becoming thin.

Stephen’s story is a very common story for children living in the developing world.  They do not have access to safe water.  The water they do have is often contaminated with things like typhoid or cholera.  Often times children (especially girls) are not able to go to school because they spend the bulk of their day getting water.
